Optional Accessories

The picture above shows the results of changing the standard pipe brackets into flat mounting brackets.  They have been cut in half, straightened and four holes drilled.  We suggest cutting two 1" x 4" pieces of treated wood approximately 9 " long to attach to the 4" x 4" x 16' treated wooden pole for the top support system.

(At time of purchase, customer decides choice of desired mounting brackets) $19.95 charge will be added if flat mount bracket is desired.

The flat mounting bracket may be altered to fit a round wooden pole. Use caution in bending the metal bracket to not damage your bat house. If you are in our area please contact us, stop and visit and we will bend your curved brackets for you at no charge.

Mounting Instructions:

Please read the General Bat Information carefully, included in your shipment. This will furnish you with ideas and advice that should increase your chances of success with this project.

At the desired spot dig a hole 16" in diameter and 30" deep. Utilizing the pivot system, lower the pivot into the hole and apply concrete. Using a level for alignment will be necessary. Allow sufficient drying time. Remove the wire (that is securing the stinger during shipment) and allow the "stinger" to lay flat. Slide your support pipe onto the stinger. Next slide the two galvanized steel brackets onto the pole and attach the house(s). Use caution not to over-tighten as damage to the unit may occur.

We recommend using a tractor with a front bucket or back-hoe to raise the support pipe. Utilize a load sling or chain that is wrapped tightly at least three times (to keep the sling or chain from slipping). Position the tightly wrapped chain or load sling not more than 3 or 4 feet below the bottom of the bat houses. Have the operator to be directly behind the pivot with the front-end bucket or boom up, backup slowly and raise the support pole very carefully. The last few inches can be finished by hand. As always, when using equipment, use caution and safety in raising or lowering the support system.
